In 2022, this group of Long Beach lifeguards tragically lost their dear friend, cousin, brother, and co-worker, Kobe Jackson. This Catalina crossing in Prone boards was in Kobe’s honor. One of the things Kobe valued most was his aquatics background which made this challenge the most special for each participant.

The Crossing For KJ was a great success and we are super proud of what Zach, Abbey, Gigi, Nicole, Spencer, Jake and the others achieved on October 15th, 2022 for Kobe. Solo paddlers Zach, Spencer and Jake completed the 31 miles in 7hrs and 30 minutes.

Though we never knew nor met Kobe, we felt an instant connection with him and the project when Zach described us about the amazing person and waterman he was. For the occasion we designed, created and donated this beautiful jersey to each individual who performed the crossing.
