ABOUT JOSH
My name is Joshua Ku, I was born and raised in the coastal country of the Gadigal land also known as Sydney,Australia. Being raised by an immigrant family the ocean was not my natural place of being. I was accustomed to the ocean by the people I surrounded myself with and the ocean was truly a place of testing my character.
Over time and experience being immersed in the ocean firstly with surfing the swell, winds and tides were first learnt. Secondly the love of spearfishing was found, with a true respect of what was under the water and how the ecosystems work. Catching food for myself and learning the cycles of the local fisheries the ocean really starts to form patterns.
Most recently in the last 3 years hydrofoiling has become an addiction, tapping into all these ocean energy sources that were not felt originally while surfing. I have found the love for downwind foiling travelling from point A to point B using my skills of navigation and foiling to safely get me to the start to the finish.
I truly thank Marine Generation in my last endeavors where I have set up a foil club for all the foilers here in Sydney, the Sydney Foil Club. We are creating a Jersey that can be worn as a practical outfit for identifying yourself in the ocean and a sun safe shirt to prevent your skin from the elements. I love this partnership and can’t wait for the future with Marine Generation in bringing the most premium outer wear for us foilers who love the ocean.
